Learning Support

The Learning Support Department works across both school sites with students from Nursery to the Sixth Form.

We offer in-class support and specialised intervention for Sion students with dyslexia and other recognised difficulties. After school drop in support is available for all Senior School students. We provide more focused support for students with a recognised difficulty including:

  • Exam skills and preparation
  • Spelling strategies
  • Essay planning and writing
  • Touch typing tuition
  • Advice on dealing with anxiety and workload issues
  • Student drop-in support sessions

The Learning Support Department works closely with staff in the Nursery, Junior and Senior Schools to make sure that all teaching staff are aware of the students in their class who have a learning difference and which approaches and strategies will be most appropriate for them. Students are enabled to access suitable exam arrangements throughout their time in the Senior School. Parental input is welcomed and our Learning Support Coordinator works closely with parents to ensure that all students have the best school experience possible.

A co-educational, independent school with a strong ethos, successfully providing education to children and young people from ages 3 – 18
